Michael Lawson

Michael established Lawson Projects in 2002 which later became Northerly Group. Prior to this Michael worked with Clough Engineering and Bovis Lend Lease, both in China and Western Australia. His roles covered a broad range of construction disciplines, from industrial, commercial and multi-residential, through to the design and construction of a deep space ground station for the European Space Agency in New Norcia WA.

 

 
Terry Hare
Terry has a great depth of experience in Project Engineering and Project Management. He has worked on projects ranging from heavy industry through to shopping centres, office complexes and multi-residential developments, both in the U.K. and Australia.

Directors Michael Lawson and Terry Hare bring a wealth of practical experience, human understanding and creative vision to their work. They form a ‘hands-on’ partnership, focussing on finding the best solutions to complex property and construction challenges. Together, they apply almost forty years’ worth of expertise in Project Management, Building and Construction, Engineering, Fit-Out and Partnered Development to the template of Northerly’s flexible and imaginative approach.

Rather than being daunted by the new development and construction standards that have arisen from climate change and ecological consciousness, Michael and Terry regard them only as a starting point. They know that Northerly, with them at the helm, will set the standards, not simply comply.

Division Managers
 

Renato Palmiero

Division Manager, Construction

Renato brings over 20 years of experience in the construction industry in both Western Australia and overseas. Renato commenced his career as a Site Engineer and has held number of other roles from Site Manager to Project Manager. Renato also developed his commercial skills through running two other businesses prior to joining Northerly Group.
 
His leadership ensures the Construction division is aligned with the Group’s business strategy. Renato has vast industry knowledge, the ability to succeed in a competitive market and the passion for the task at hand.

 

Richard Pawle

Division Manager, Interiors

Richard Pawle has over 25 years experience in the building and construction industry. A Registered Builder in WA and member of the Australian Institute of Building, Richard has completed a vast array of projects across numerous sectors of the building industry. Initially entering the building industry as an Apprentice Carpenter, then working through roles as Supervisor, Project Manager and BDM roles, Richard has an excellent understanding of building from the ground up and the intricacies of the many roles within a team that are required to complete projects. 

 

With a strong focus on client understanding and project delivery, this has been the basis of the delivery of so many successful projects

 

Philip Helberg

Division Manager, Living

Philip is an experienced engineering and project management professional with over 15 years experience in the engineering, design and construction industry working on major projects with values up to $150 million. He currently heads up Northerly’s Living division overseeing all aged care and residential projects. He has proven international experience working on projects in Africa, Asia and Australia over a wide range of industries including mining, water supply, toll roads, building and subdivisions.

Peter Middelhuis

Operations Manager, Property Services

A carpenter by trade, Peter has been involved in the building industry since 1970 and has also served as a WA and Federal Police Officer. In his two previoius roles with major service companies, Peter has held the positions of Contract Manager and Facilities Manager.
 
Northerly Property Services has been formed as a new company to compliment Northerly Group. Peter has been appointed as the Operations Manager for Northerly Property Services (NPS).
